Storage

Store the kit in a designated, easily accessible location known to emergency response personnel. The kit should be readily available to the assigned responder and not stored in a location that could delay retrieval during an emergency.

Store in a cool, dry area protected from excessive heat, moisture and direct sunlight.

Inspection & Maintenance

Inspect the kit periodically and after each use. Check the lantern and other equipment for proper operation, replace used or damaged supplies, and review dated items such as first aid supplies and N95 respirators for applicable expiration dates.

Replace missing, used or expired components promptly so the kit remains ready for deployment.

The Emergency Responder Kit is intended for individual response team members, while the Building Emergency Coordinator Kit is designed for the person overseeing or coordinating the broader building response. The Building Emergency Coordinator Kit includes additional communication and coordination equipment, including two-way radios and a megaphone.

Does the Emergency Responder Kit include first aid supplies?

Yes. The kit includes a 44-piece first aid kit for basic first aid needs during an emergency.
